Can't get Journey Theme Apperance to Change

I’m trying to edit the appearance under the “edit theme settings” tab for the Journey theme to adjust the colors of the thumbnail box, info box, etc. However, nothing is happening when I type in a color. Can you tell me the correct way to do this?
