can’t get latest entries, categories to appear regardless of theme

    This is my blog but regardless of whatever theme I choose (including the default), I can’t get latest blog entries,categories, and archives to appear in the sidebar. I manually put in the php code for those themes and they still don’t work.

    Has anyone experienced this?

    If you are using widgets (and you do!) there is no use to edit anything in the sidebar.php – widgets overwrite everything.
    You can’t have both: either widgets or manual editing.

    Ah…gotcha. How would I turn off widgets then? Just delete all the widgets that I have and that’s it?

    and yes- apparently, I’m using widgets.

    Don’t drag any widget into the sidebar (in Presentation > Themes > Widgets) and it will display what is coded into the sidebar.php file.
