    My site is hosted through Host Gator and when I went to bed at about 11:00PM PST last night I wasn’t able to get onto my site. However, on Host Gator’s support forums they said they were doing a RAM replacement and it would take 20 minutes to finis, so I went to bed because I figured the site would be up again once they were finsihed.

    When I woke up this morning I found that I still couldn’t get onto my site. I couldn’t get into my wp-admin, nor onto the site itself. However, I can access my Host Gator control panel.

    I contacted Host Gator and they said that is was a problem with my internet provider (ATT UVERSE). I can access the site through a proxy and I can see in Google Analytics other people can get on my site as well. But through a proxy I still can’t login to my dashboard. And, I can tell that my site traffic is down quite a bit from normal. So, I don’t really know what’s going on…

    I’m at a loss of where to begin trying to diagnose this problem, so any help of where to begin would be appreciated.

    Sounds like either your hosts are blocking your ISP or vice versa. You’ll just need to keep hammering away at both until one of them owns up.

    Thanks for answering esmi. If they’re blocking my ISP could they be blocking other’s as well? I’ve noticed a traffic dip since last night, so I’m thinking that there are others that cannot get onto my site also.

    Quite possibly. Pretty much all hosts maintain or subscribe to IP blacklists.

    Well Host Gator is now taking blame after originally saying it was my ISP. So, that’s good I guess.

    That doesn’t really surprise me after a server upgrade. Glad to hear that you’re on your way to getting this sorted. ??
