Hello there, I’ve been running my site https://www.gocuplin.com for about a year and using the Customizer PRO theme from the get go. I’ve completed a recent update, but now when I go into Appearance > Themes and click on Customize under the theme (which is what I did before I even started personalizing my page), it takes me to a log in page but when I enter my WordPress username and password it says “You have logged in successfully” and then immediately takes me back to the same screen and wants me to put in my username and password again (saying “Your session has expired. Please log-in again”). I don’t even know why I’m being asked to login under the themes tab because I’ve already logged in to my WordPress account. I’ve tried reverting and reinstalling, but same problem either way. Thanks in advance, Matt

  • Hi,

If you can ftp into your website, in the root directory of your site like /HTML or /public_HTML try and locate .htaccess file and rename it to something like bak.htaccess.

Then see if you can log back in and do the customizer. If you can, don’t do anything and go back to the dashboard, go to settings and click permalinks. Then just hit update. That will create a new and working .htaccess file which hopefully will not cause the same issue.

    Let us know.

    Thanks,
    Artur

Thanks Arthur, I can’t/don’t FTP into the site – is there any other way around it? Also, I’ve been updating the Customizer theme which I thought might be the problem… it is now up to date, however my live site is really broken and I still can’t get past the login. Thanks in advance.
