• When I visit my blog using the following URL, I’m able to view everything normally:

    * https://tompurl.com

    However, if I click on the “home” link on my page, it takes me to the following URL:

    * https://tompurl.com/index.php/

    And this URL gives me the following text:

    No input file specified.

    I didn’t notice this problem until a couple of weeks ago after I upgraded to 2.1.2. I backed out the upgrade to 2.1.0, but the problem remains.

    I read somewhere how this could be a permalink issue, and I’m using the “Date and name based” permalink option. My admin page told me that my .htaccess file isn’t writeable (even though I ran the chmod 666 command against it). I therefore copied and pasted the text from the permalink admin page into my .htaccess file, but this also didn’t help.

    Does anyone have any tips on what I can do next? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again!

  • Have you checked your header template? You shouldn’t have a / after a link to a page.

    Also, check your ‘blog address (URL)’ or ‘WordPress address (URL)’ in the ‘options’ section of your WordPress admin page. You don’t need index.php at the end.

    Thanks a ton Mr. Blank! I ended up changing my “WordPress Address” setting, and that did the trick.

    Thanks again!
