Sure, accept cookies first. Your cookie consent blocks the pixel until you agree to tracking.

sorry you lost me on that one. IS that a setting within the plugin as I cannot find it. I think already enabled https://simonparker.tinytake.com/tt/NDg3NTkwMV8xNTM3OTgyNQ

You have a cookie consent plugin installed on your website. That plugins shows a consent banner, and blocks the Facebook pixel until you agree to tracking.

So it’s not related to our pixel plugin, but to the cookie consent plugin.

Additionally, make sure you don’t use an ad blocker, and that you don’t test with an excluded role. We do have settings to hide the pixel for various roles, right on the main page of the plugin.

ah ok, in which case Facebook won’t find the pixel without me disbabling cookie consent?

I have it set to show pixel I think without cookie consent https://simonparker.tinytake.com/tt/NDg3NTkwMV8xNTM3OTgyNQ

The Facebook Pixel won’t fire until the website visitor doesn’t give her or his permission. That’s how the cookie consent plugin works.

This consent part is not managed by us, but by the consent plugin.

One more thing: the cookie consent plugin overwrites the settings in our own plugin.

ok I understand, problem is Facebook will not run an ad without checking the pixel works, and it can’t check that as the cookie consent is turned on which it needs to be for GDPR. Guess have to use script in the header php as the gdpr plugin and yours seem incompatible for use with Facebook ads. Facebook shows no pixel installed, to get it to show I have to turn off the GDPR, unless I’m missing something

ok, that’s a shame, unless you know of another gdpr plugin I can use with your plugin so it all works together? Otherwise have to remove your plugin if my gdpr one is overwriting it. Than you

Facebook will let you run ads as soon as they start to get data from the pixel. It can be some delay, like a few hours. They don’t check the page source for the pixel, they simply wait for the pixel to feed them data.

You can send some data by yourself if you visit the website and agree to tracking.

You can also disable the consent plugin just enough for Facebook to confirm the pixel works.

You can definitely use the plugin for ads, and there is no problem if you use a consent plugin. A lot of users have this combination.

ok, turned off gdpr for a while until Facebook picks up the pixel code and allows the ad to run, then can re-enable it. hopefully
