    Hi everyone,

It seems I can’t get recommended links (external links) via the Edit Related Posts button. Only our own articles show up on the Recommended Posts section.

The external links show up on my Add/Edit Post screen. I opted out the “Display Related Posts Recommendations on Compose Screen” feature since it inserts on the post itself.

Any suggestions on how to make the external links show via the Edit Related Posts button?

    Many thanks!

  • Hey, thanks for reaching out, I’ll gladly help!

The thing is, that orange ‘Edit Related Posts’ button is only meant to re-edit your own related posts — which are added automatically at the end of your blog posts, by our plugin?— if you are not satisfied with the current selection.

But those related articles from around the web (and other external links) can only be added / re-edited while composing or editing one of your blog posts, since they can only be inserted into the body of your blog post.

Also — they can only be added manually, since it is necessary that they’re audited by the author himself, before publishing.

You mentioned that you opted out of this feature, since it “inserts on the post itself” — any chance you could tell us more about it? We have a very strict policy that we do not insert any external links to our users content without their approval / action, which is why we’re curious on what happened & would love to help you out!

It’s probably also worth mentioning that your blog won’t be recommended to others, since that option opts you out of our Recommendations Pool as well. In order to be linked to you also need to link out to other bloggers — not all of the time, but just when you find it necessary & interesting. We strongly believe our recommended content is relevant, thoroughly checked and of decent quality.

Let me know what are your thoughts on this and what happened with those inserted links, since I’d love to help you out wherever necessary! Looking forward to your reply!

Take care & have a nice day!

    Best,
    Silvo

Thanks, Silvo! We made a workaround on the layout instead. More power to Zemanta!

This is now resolved! Thanks again!

Hey, glad to hear that, really! And especially your enthusiastic compliments regarding our service, they do brighten our days!

May I ask you what changes have you applied instead? I’d love to hear what you have come up with, since maybe we could help our future users as well (if possible).

Let us know, we’d love to know more about it!

Take care & have a nice day!

    Best,
    Silvo
