Can't get rid of ads!

  • Hey,so my website gizmowow.com has ads that I can’t get rid of
    Can I just reinstall wordpress?Will that get rid of all ads?

  • it seems to come from your theme; so re-installing wordpress will not help.

    did you contact the theme seller?

    did you add any advertising widget to the sidebar ( the css id of the ads widget is ‘whydowork-adsense’)

    if not, you may need to edit sidebar.php of your theme and find and remove the ad code.

    If you have in any of your theme files:
    “eval(base64_decode”
    then the theme author embedded the ads. Before you just delete the encoded sections, it usually so contains important code besides the ads…..
    Just what some theme authors do to make money from their work. Often though an author will remove them for a small donation. If you ike the theme might be worth it.
