can't get rid of "Leave A Reply" area for comments

    On our front page at mystomead.com I can’t rid of the Leave a Reply section for comments. It stays at the bottom of the page. We want a website vibe not a blog. It’s very much unwanted. I have disabled everything etc. Turned off comments, etc. Can anybody PLEASE HELP??? Thank you!!

    Unchecking “Allow people to post comments on new articles” at Settings -> Discussion only sets the default for future posts/pages.

    To remove comments on an existing page, like the only used for your home page, edit that page and scroll down to the Discussion box below the editor. There, uncheck “Comments” to disable comments on the page.

    If you don’t see a Discussion box below the editor, hit the Site Options tab near the top-right and check “Discussion” to enable the Discussion box below the editor.
