Cant get Screen Options set to 2 columns to stick

  • I updated WP and all of a sudden the screen options disappeared.

    I found them at the top @@

    I noticed the 2 columns vs 1 column in the New Post.
    I changed to 1 column to checked how it would look.
    Now I cant get it back to 2 columns.
    I cant do the drag and drop that everyone suggests!
    It WONT stick there. It just goes back. I can rearrange the different features to be above or below, but NOTHING goes into the 2 columns!!!
    I have seen numerous of threads about this problem but NO solutions. What is up with the tech people at WP, this cant be that hard to fix!!!!

  • Yes me too – its apparently a big fat bug

    I have no plugins installed.
    I am using an Artisteer template.
    I upgraded to the latest 3.1.2 hoping it might fix the problem but it hasnt…

    Help please …

    Also – the reason I played around with the 2 column layout was that my page template select box had disappeared …

    Oh and changing back to 2010 theme did not fix it either.

    So two problems to fix –
    1) cant get back to two column layout in the page editor
    2) lost page template selection

    Arghhhh 8-(

    Update –
    logging out and in again got the Page Template select back.
    It also put back in the second comlumn one item – Page Options/Show Title.

    So I am operational again –
    its a shame that the right column in the page edit screen only has the one item in it though …
