  • It depends if you’re using the most recent articles or a page as homepage on /wp-admin/options-reading.php

If you’re using you’ll have a “Website tagline” field. If you’re using a page, it will use that page’s title and excerpt/description.

Thank you for your response. Please re-read the following from my second paragraph:

There is a difference in the plug-in parameters for the two sites which appears to be relevant.

For KCEOnline.net “Homepage description” on the settings page has only a link to “Home”.

For the second site, the options “Website tagline” and “Custom Text” are available.

Why would there be a difference?

How can I make the kceonline.net site options to line up with those of the second site?

Thanks for your patience and attention.

    Regards,

    John

    Hi there johnhowze,

Maybe I was not clear enough.

On https://kceonline.net/ you have setup WordPress frontpage to be a PAGE instead on the Latest articles on /wp-admin/options-reading.php

When this is setup like this, our plugin does not show the option to insert a custom text description. The description for the homepage will be defined by the chosen frontpage, either by it’s excerpt, description first characters or Yoast SEO description if you activated the integration.

It’s only when the WordPress frontpage is set to “latest posts” that the “custom text” option will be available on our plugin’s settings page because there’s not a specific page on where to set the description.

Going back to the https://kceonline.net/ issue, you have to set the title and description on your page title and excerpt/content fields.

Please re-open this topic if the problem persists.
