    Hello!

I recently installed the facebook-feed, but I just can’t get it to show. I made a new page called test, copied the [custom-facebook-feed] but no dice. I’m using the pitch theme on my site.

I’m using bbcnews as ID for testing, but still nothing. Tried fiddling around with settings but it won’t show up..

Any tips or things I might have missed?

    Hey there!

The first question on our Troubleshooting page has some solutions to the common issues, but if you could tell me the following then I can help to narrow down the problem:

    1) Are you using an Access Token or are you leaving that field blank?
    2) Could you tell me what your System Info says on the plugin’s Support tab – which is on the plugin’s Settings page?
    3) Could you tell me whether you receive an error or blank box when clicking on the ‘Test Connection to Facebook API’ button on that page?

    Cheers!

    Hey John,

    Thank you for the answer!

I will get back to you with answers ASAP, currently my webhost is undergoing some scheduled maintenance.

However I don’t use Access Token, so that field is blank

    2) PHP Version: 5.3.28

    Web Server Info: Apache

    PHP allow_url_fopen: Yes

    PHP cURL: Yes

    JSON: Yes

    3) Blank box

I’d advise the same thing as I recommended to Carter in this support thread, which is:

If you’re getting a blank box then that means something is blocking your site from connecting to the Facebook API. This is usually some kind of security measure installed on your web server, such as a firewall or proxy, which is blocking the connection. In this situation I usually recommend just firing off a quick email to your web hosting support team to ask if any such security measure is in place. Let them know that you’re trying to connect to https://graph.facebook.com. They’re usually able to add that domain to a whitelist so that the site is able to connect.

Feel free to let me know if your hosting support team have any specific questions or what their response is.

    Hello again John,

It seems as though you are correct, they won’t allow access to the Facebook API.. I’ll make sure to get my page onto another webhosting-service in the coming days.

Thank you for all your support!
