    This is the second time in a month this has happened. My WordPress automatically updated, and I get this message when I try to go to the Dashboard:

    <start clip>

    No Update Required

    Your WordPress database is already up-to-date!

    Continue

    <end clip>

    The last time, I went into FTP, renamed the plugins folder to plugins-temp, moved the plugins into the new plugins folder, and this got the Dashboard page up again. This time, that strategy did not work.

    My site is at route66news.com

  • Have you tried remane the theme folder? I have seen your previous thread at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/cant-get-to-admin-page-after-update?replies=4. It seems that one developer also recommend you to check your theme file to figure out wrong coding.

    Hi,

    I looked up what host you are on, and I know they run a cache service called Varnish.

    This is not uncommon if you’ve updated your site and not cleared the varnish cache, you can most likely do so by dropping by the control panel for your host to clear this. Should you not find it just ask your host to clear this cache for you and you should be good ??

    I wouldn’t recommend removing cache files put there by your host, that’ll not end well ??

    Please just contact your hosting provider in this case to have them sort out the cache as it sounds like it’s not clearing properly in this case.

    Simply rename the object-cache.php file located in wp-content folder.This worked for me

    I’ve sent a message to Dreamhost and asked it to clear the cache.

    Alas, Dreamhost’s live chat is down because of a companywide meeting. :/

    Thanks for the replies so far. I think you’re right about Varnish; everything else is working correctly. A post I had scheduled even published on time. And I’m able to approve comments on the WordPress app. So at least the site actually is working.

    Forgive me for asking this again from another thread, bensonManjue, but do you leave the file as-is after you rename it and the Dashboard comes back? Or does it repopulate with the correct file?

    Hi there,

    Having the same problem here, but solved it by going into my “Supercaching” settings ( at my host Siteground ) and flushing the Memcached.

    Immediately after that I was able to get into my dashboard again.

    As far as the temporarely renaming the object-cache.php that should do it do. As soon as you get into your dashboard again, you can rename it again, should be fine.

    Good luck,
    Annie

    It took a couple of tries, but the Dashboard is back up after Dreamhost worked on it.

    For anyone else’s reference, the problem seemed widespread, and Dreamhost put out this message, in part:

    The software update caused memcache to stop running. Everything has been resolved. The memcahe service has been restarted. Your website is back online. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your continued patience.

    Thanks for the reply, LogoLogics. I think I’ll keep this thread in my back pocket in case this problem pops up again.

    Hi route66news,

    You are welcome, glad its resolved!
