@toddhalfpenny Hi Todd! I have a question about Widgets on Pages, if you don’t mind. I successfully downloaded the plugin, created and populated new “sidebar” widgets. However, when I copied the shortcode I was not able to figure out how to get the widgets in a sidebar- when I copy the shortcode it only appears in the body of the pages. Please help!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @maryclarealmeda,

Sorry you’re having issues. Do you have a link to a page where you’re seeing this, please?

    Hi! Here is an example:

    https://masteradmissions.com/test-page/

If you look, I divided the page into two columns: 2/3 and 1/3. I posted the shortcode for the widget in the column with the 1/3 size. As you see it showed in the page, not the sidebar. The sidebar that is showing on that page is the Primary Sidebar, which I emptied out so I can see the work I’m doing.

    Thank you,
    MC

PS: So basically I want the Primary Sidebar to go away, and to replace it with the sidebar widget I thought I made using Widgets on Pages. I tried to go into Appearance>Widget Areas, creating a new sidebar there to appear only on that page and replace Primary, but it didn’t work.

I also tried installing a plugin called Widget Context but that didn’t help either.

    Hi @maryclarealmeda,

I’m looking at the page and can see the text “this is a test page” in the 2/3 col, and the widgets in the 1/3 col.

Looking at the outputted HTML it looks like the Widgets that are output are those from the Widgets on Pages Turbo Sidebar called “Home_Recent_Posts”, is this not what you are after?

    Apologies if I have misunderstood.

Hi! Sorry- it is me that is not writing clearly.

You understood partially . . . I do want the content from Home_Recent_Posts to display.

However I do not want it to display on the page, but in the actual sidebar.

    Make sense?

Ah right… gotcha… OK, this is not actually a current feature of Widgets on Pages, though it’s a really good idea and I should probably add it to the roadmap.

This plugin looks like it might fit the bill https://en-gb.www.ads-software.com/plugins/content-aware-sidebars/

Sorry if this is not the answer you’re hoping for.

Well, it’s better than what I thought you were going to say, which is that I would have to upgrade for that feature ??

Thanks for the advice on the content aware plugin- I’ll try!

Thank you for the real time customer support. MUCH appreciated.
