    Hi there,

I’ve added a custom taxonomy to the WooCommerce products post type and I’ve set ‘Public’ and ‘Public Queryable’ to ‘False’ as I would like to hide all products that are in this custom taxonomy.

However, the products still appear on the front-end?!

Might this have to do with using Visual Composer? I also wonder if the products aren’t hidden because even though I remove any standard categories from a product, then it’ll automatically be categorized as ‘Uncategorized’? Hope that makes sense…

I hope someone can help and many thanks in advance!

    Hi @skafte.

I guess my bigger question is what exactly is your intent here with adding a new taxonomy to WooCommerce’s post types. It sounds to me like you’re trying to use it to potentially toggle visibility of the products to site visitors?

Regarding the two settings, I believe those are meant to more control access to the term archives, not posts, or in this case product, access. Say “https://www.mystore.com/mytaxonomy/mytaxterm/”

Visual composer wouldn’t have any effect on things that I can think of.

Thanks for your quick response @tw2113!

All good points and thanks for your considerations!

Your feedback spurred me on to a solution and I’ve realised that what I want to do doesn’t actually require hiding products at well! -it’s simply a back-end tool that I want to set up and it’s fine that it has no effect on the front-end at all.

My apologies and many thanks for your help! I really appreciate that you took the time to respond to me and it would probably have taken me a lot longer to come to this realisation! ??

    Cheers!
