    Hi,

This is the content of my setting file (partial):

    {
    “aiowps_remove_wp_generator_meta_info”:”1″,
    “aiowps_set_generic_login_msg”:”1″,
    “aiowps_enable_registration_page_captcha”:”1″,
    “aiowps_enable_registration_honeypot”:”1″,
    “aiowps_enable_basic_firewall”:”1″,
    “aiowps_deny_bad_query_strings”:”1″,
    “aiowps_advanced_char_string_filter”:”1″,
    “aiowps_enable_6g_firewall”:”1″,
    “aiowps_enable_login_honeypot”:”1″,
    “aiowps_enable_spambot_blocking”:”1″,
    “aiowps_enable_comment_captcha”:”1″,
    “aiowps_prevent_users_enumeration”:”1″
    }

How do I import it? Tried as a file and as text.
Always getting “The contents of your settings file appear invalid. Please check the contents of the file you are trying to import settings from.”

    Tried without {}.
    Tried without quotation marks.
    Tried single line (“aiowps_remove_wp_generator_meta_info”:”1″)

    Ideas?

    Hi,

This is how the import/export tab feature works.

The import process works in the following manner. If you change or loose your settings then you can import the settings you exported earlier. However if you see the following message Import AIOWPS settings from file operation failed!, that means there is no changes in the plugin settings and the import is not needed.

Let me know if the above helps you.

    Thank you.

    I see.
    Thanks.
    I’ll try in another installation.
    The settings syntax is OK?

Yes. I wrote I tried in a new site. Does those settings are enabled by default?

    Hi,

If you tried this feature in a new site and there are no changes in the site then you will see the error message when you try to import the settings.

    Thank you.

There should be changes. Those aren’t the default settings.

Can you tell me where in the db those settings reside?
If the import function is broken and you’re not willing to help, I’ll just push those settings to the db directly.

    Hi,

If the import function is broken and you’re not willing to help, I’ll just push those settings to the db directly.

To make sure this feature is working as expected in our plugin, I carried out the following steps.

    1) I checked to make sure only one feature is enabled. For this test I enabled Enable Login Lockdown Feature: under User Login -> Login Lockdown
    2) I then exported the settings.
    3) Then I decided to import the settings and received the following error message:

The contents of your settings file appear invalid. Please check the contents of the file you are trying to import settings from.

    4) The above means the feature is working as expected because there weren’t any changes made to the plugins settings.
    5) I then decided to disable Enable Login Lockdown Feature:.
    6) Then I clicked on Select Your Import Settings File button.
    7) Then I clicked on Select Files button.
    8) Then I selected the file from my computer and clicked on Open button.
    9) Then I clicked on File URl button.
    10) Then clicked on Insert into Post button.
    11) Then I clicked on Import AIOWPS Settings button and received the following message:

Your AIOWPS settings were successfully imported. The file you uploaded was also deleted for security purposes because it contains security settings details.

This means that this feature is working as expected. Let me know if you followed the same steps I mentioned above.

    Thank you.

Well. For me it’s not working.
So maybe the db approach will work.

Try the following process of elimination. Deactivate all other plugins except ours. Then carry out a test following my example above. See if this might help you.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately I am unable to reproduce your issue in my dev site. Maybe it is your type of site or server configuration that is causing this issue.

    Kind regards.
