I just upgraded to WordPress 4.2.2 and now I can load images to the Media section of my site, but I can’t insert them into any Pages.

    My site is https://www.lettersfromletty.com.

I am not very WordPress literate and don’t really understand code.

Any simple steps to repair for a non-web literate user URGENTLY please? This is my business website. Thanks.

And it appears to be blocking the ability to insert links too. All options that require a pop up box to open to select or enter data?

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

I can’t link images… or put any link, actually, into my pages in my updated 4.2.2 version of WordPress either. I deactivated all my plugins, and am running the default 2015 theme and still can’t do it… when I try to put a link in my page, then press Update, it takes me to the home page, and doesn’t save the changes. ??

    James,

    You are the winner!

It ended up to be the theme I was using.

    Thank you,

Hi James. Thanks for your reply. I have removed all plug ins, updated them all one by one and reinstalled them one by one, and this has not resolved the problem for me.

If I switch to the Twenty-Fifteen theme, will it delete all my custom theming?

Any other ideas please? Thanks a lot.

Are you using W3TC or are you parsing javascript?
I have had this problem. Temporary disabling W3TC and removing code for parsing solved it for me.

You’ll be able to safely switch back to your previous theme once you have ruled it out by temporarily switching to Twenty Fifteen. You won’t lose any customizations.
