  • you can try new themes it will be helpfull

I have the same issue. My theme was working just fine before the 3.5.1 update. I don’t see why i would have to change my theme because of wordpress problems.

I was able to fix it temporarily by going to my c-panel, then file manager and then searching for the file wp-config.php. When you open it up all the way at the bottom you will see this line:

eval(base64_decode [code removed - please do not post that kind of code here]

I would delete that line and go back to my post and the image upload would work until you refresh the page. I don't know how to make it a permanent fix.

@sterlingenuine, run your site through this malware scanner https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/scanner/

@andrew Nevins It says it’s clean. My site dosen’t have any problems.

That’s not normal code and no scanner pickes up every hacked site.
    What theme are you using?

Have you tried the suggested troubleshooting steps?

@sterlingenuine Can you share the link to your site?

It’s just part of the troubleshooting steps. Some theme’s have been doing the Wrong Thing™ for a long time and an update to WordPress sometimes brings that out.

By switching to the Twenty Twelve theme if the problem goes away then it may be your theme. Sadly that’s often the case but by using the process of elimination you can see identify where the problem is.

@jan Dembowski Here is my site: https://www.whitneywashington.com

@wpyogi I have not tried troubleshooting. I use the a theme forest theme called Gonzo.

I thought that was your site, it’s the one in your profile. Best to ask just in case. ??

To your problem: you should try troubleshooting. This is a self-help forum after all.

As a means of identifying where the problem is (you can always put it back the way it was)

    – Switching to the Twenty Twelve theme

    – Deactivate all of your plugins. Also consider resetting the plugins folder by using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – Clear your browser’s cookies and cache

Once that’s done re-login and try to insert new media into a post. Let us know if that works.

    YYYYYEEEEESSSSS!!!!!

3 Hours later have got images working. There was nothing wrong with WordPress.

If you have e.g. Google Chrome and have downloaded any apps e.g. (Adblock) which was the one I was using, when you attempt to add a photo it will not show.

You must disable any type of add blocker you are using on your internet and then, for me anyway, its works again!

If on Chrome, you should be able to see your add blacker in the top right corner (just below the big X that closes Chrome)
