Long-time user–but inactive for many, many years. I have a blog at a SUBDIRECTORY of findable at /blog.

NOW I want to host a different site at the root itself.

I’ve downloaded and unzipped and am trying to upload the consequent files via Filezilla to the root site (and I’ve made the necessary database changes to wp_config). It LOOKS like things are transferring, but I don’t see the files in the root directory–but Filezilla tells me transfer went okay–and no change is being made to the “placeholder” screen I put at root years ago. What the heck am I doing wrong?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hmmm…odd that I can’t edit that.

Anyway…my uploaded WordPress files DO appear in a subdirectory to the root. I’m guessing that is as it should be?

HOWEVER, how do I point www to that subdirectory now?

OK, looked around and found out that I can go to 1and1.com and go to “Domains” and point www to the subdirectory just now created.

    RESOLVED.
