  • Is it Self Hosted www.ads-software.com or Free WordPress.com? Are you on a Multi Site Network?

It’s wordpress org. I had been able to add plugins about a month ago. Now I can see the Editor under Appearance as well, as well as not being able to install new plugins

Sorry I can’t see Editor under appearance

What’s in your wp-content\plugins folder? Did you check it with default theme? or updating wordpress version? What’s in .htaccess file?

Sorry not sure where to find the.htaccess file. I’m not an expert in wordpress. It’s telling me the File editor for Plugins and Themes is disabled in the hardening under Securi Security, as that got anything to do with it?

Yup that can be issue ?? kindly enable it and check that out.

See Below Steps to find .htaccess
    Log in to your cPanel
    Under Files click File Manager
Click Settings in the upper right corner
Select your Document Root and check the box for Show hidden files and click Save

Hi I’ve just done that but it’s doesn’t revert to Harden. Like nothing happens, the editor and plug in options still don’t appear. Also the problem is that the company who did the website originally won’t give us the ftp/cpanel log in passwords etc.

can you see what type of user you are under users, you need to be have administrator privilege to install anything. if the site is working perfect then it must be the reason why.
is there any plugin in on your plugin list that manages membership?

Hi thanks again for helping. I am Administrator as is the person who originally created the site. I can’t see install new plugins under plugins.
