Cannot get sitekit to install. I installed and activated sitekit. Select setup sitekit, sign in with google, Choose account. ( Selected two different google accounts ) then get the error “Error: bad request – missing parameter ‘code’.

I’ve installed health and check and followed instructions from previous posts ( Disabled all and sitekit returns the same error.

Everything is updated on my site.

    Hi there @wrwl,

Thanks for reaching out. As we’re currently investigating reports of this it would be great if you could share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. Within the form please include your current hosting provider.
    2. When checking the Site Kit dashboards from a Chrome browser incognito window do you see any browser console errors on the same screen where this notice appears? If so please share any such errors.
    3. Have you been able to set up Site Kit successfully on this site previously, or on any other sites on the same hosting platform?

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Once we have this information we can investigate this further or provide you with some troubleshooting suggestions, which may include attempting setup from another site on the same hosting platform or using another Google account to attempt setup.

@dropoutcode Would it be possible for you to also share the above information within an individual support topic we can investigate this further?

@dropoutcode @wrwl Out of curiosity are you using a specific browser to attempt setup? If so please check does the same occur from a Chrome browser.

Hi! I was having the same error using Brave Browser, solved it making the set up using Chrome.

@sumiglez Many thanks for the update, great to know. It does seem there is a “Auto-redirect AMP pages” configuration within the Brave browser, enabled by default, which may result in this error.

@wrwl Feel free to attempt Site Kit setup once more with this setting within Brave temporarily disabled, or from another browser.

Let me know how you get on after performing one of the above.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
