• I took a year off from geeking and returned to find that my WordPress installs no longer gave me the ability to add or update plugins or themes, or the core install. It now all has to be done through Bluehost’s front-end.

    This really blows.

It also doesn’t allow me to install anything new from within WordPress. I have to go through their File Manager like it’s 1996.

Is this a flip of a switch? Can I change a config file to return control of my WordPress installs to me and not Bluehost?

    Thanks in advance,
    Michael

I have a few client sites on Bluehost and have not experienced this issue recently.

Maybe chat with Bluehost support team to find out if there is an issue or change in your account type.

I know there have been some extra capabilities added but I am not sure if they apply to all types of accounts with Bluehost.
