Can't keep plugin from redirecting my visitors to plugin site
-
I understand that most free plugins are used to promote the plugin creators. That’s all good.
But this plugin redirects every visitor to his site if they try to download my article as a PDF. There is no way I’m using this plugin (which would be great otherwise) if it causes this much disruption to my users.
Not only that, but the download box that pops up links to this plugins social media causing my users to think they are promoting me when they are actually promoting a plugin. I operate in a niche where most users don’t even know what WordPress is, much less a plugin.
Maybe there is some way to change all of these settings but it wasn’t easily accessible so I’m simply going to use another similar plugin or just not have this feature. I would rather have no downloadable blog post than a download that funnels all traffic away from my site to an irrelevant site.
Your audience for this site is webmasters, not the visitors of the webmasters sites. Funneling all a webmasters visitors to your site will make webmasters less likely to recommend your plugin to other webmasters.
I give it a 1-star simply because I will not use the plugin this disruptive to my audience experience of my site. It COULD be a really great plugin and I hope I can use it when it becomes a better plugin.
