Hello, if I activate the Jetpack option “Let visitors use a WordPress.com, Twitter, or Facebook account to comment”, it does not work and displays an error: “Nonce verification failed”. I tried every tip I could find to solve this problem, but nothing works. I replaced my theme (Ashe) with an official WP theme (twenty-…), uninstalled and removed all the widgets and plugins, re-installed Jetpack, … Now I’m using my first theme again, Ashe, a free version. I use a minimum of plug-ins. It’s still giving the same error. I have the exact same problem on my other blog as well (thedollyears.com).
Thank you in advance for any tips on how to solve this problem.

    Hi @zandana01

Do you get the same error if you go into the modules section and try to activate Comments there?

You can see how to do this here:

    https://jetpack.com/support/control-jetpack-features-on-one-page/

Can you try that and see?

Hi Bruce, thank you for your reply. I tried it, and comments were off in this section, but the error message still appears. I now turned it off again.

    Hello, there.

It looks like your SSL certificate (which allows your site to load over https rather than http) is not installed properly – It’s in the name of your host rather than your actual domain:

    https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=https://fromyorewithlove.com/

I would recommend reaching out to your webhost to have them take a look and install the certificate correctly so that all requests are validated and secured properly, and so that Jetpack can connect – You can provide them with that link to show them exactly what’s going on.

I’m assuming at this point that some of your Jetpack services are failing because of this.

Once you’ve spoken with your providers, please try reconnecting Jetpack and turning on the commenting feature and let us know if you have any more troubles. Thanks!

    Ho @zandana01

In the meantime, are you still having the issue with the comments? It’s not clear to me, sorry!

Hello @bruceallen, unfortunately I do, if I activate this function, the error message appears again, even after I installed my SSL certificate, as madhatter suggested. I also cleared my cache, that didn’t do anything either.

@bruceallen, I activated the function again just now on my other blog (where I have the same problem), and when I posted a test comment myself, the header of my blog appeared and not the comment. I really don’t know what is wrong, but I have never seen this before?

Hello @bruceallen and @madhattersez, an update on the comments issue: I installed Akismet and now WordPress users can comment via the Jetpack option, so that is solved. Also, I changed http into https via my webhost. However, now the new posts of my blog thedollyears.com don’t show up in the WP reader or in the Blogger reading list. Any idea how to make my posts appear again in the reading lists? Does it have to do with the fact that http is changed to https you think? Thank you ??

    Hi @zandana01

Thanks for reporting back! I see that you switched your website to HTTPS, and I can confirm that everything is running correctly on our end; however, the WordPress Reader requires a plan for your posts to show; otherwise, they would only show when using a site search.

Did you publish any new posts besides the one posted here?

@muffinpeace Hi Mehdi, the problem is solved, every post shows in the reader now. It looks like my two blogs are running smoothly now, I’m relieved. ?? Thank you all for the support and help!
