Can’t link from dashboard to view site on localhost

  • Hi, I am new to WordPress so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. I have installed WP 2.7 and am running the most recent versions of Apache and PHP; all seemed to install correctly and I am able to log into my dashboard, make changes, etc., however when I click “view site” I only get a listing of all the files in the WordPress directory. The URL is https://localhost/wordpress. I’ve also tried https://localhost/blogname/wordpress, with the config.php file copied directly under blogname. No luck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

  • mod_dir is installed?

    DirectoryIndex index.php goes in your .htaccess or the httpd.conf
