Can’t Link To Dropbox/Google Drive Account

    I’m trying to set two websites up to backup using UpdraftPlus. The first (thera-rising.com) worked fine, but I can’t link the second (www.conflictsavvy.net) to my Dropbox or Google Drive Account. I can get most of the way through the linking process, but the final screen (the one that says click here to link and we’ll return you to your website) kicks me back to the wp-login.php page for my site and fails to link.

    I’m on the newest version of Word Press and made sure to update (then reinstalled) UpdraftPlus. I’ve also made sure that I’m logged into the proper Dropbox/Google Drive account before attempting.

    Any insights into what the problem may be and how to fix it? I’m on a bit of a tight schedule, as I only have about 32 hours to migrate the backups off of our webhost before they take our site down.

    Hi,

    It is because your WP site is set up in a way that allows it to be visited under two different addresses, and you have logged in as one, but WP believes the ‘canonical’ address to be the other, and it keeps redirecting you between the two. Specifically between https://www.conflict-savvy.net and conflict-savvy.net. You need to resolve that so that WP’s settings in Options -> General agree with the page that you’re logging in at.

    Hi David,

    Thanks for the reply! We’re not there yet, but that got me pretty close I think. ??

    The URL in settings is set to https://www.conflictsavvy.net. I’ve logged in using that and got the same problem. I also tried https://conflictsavvy.net and https://www.conflict-savvy.net and am still getting the same problem.

    After running the process again and getting the same loop, I’m seeing that the plugin is redirecting me to https://conflict-savvy.net/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=updraftplus&action=updraftmethod-dropbox-auth. So it looks like there’s a disconnect between the site URL and the URL the plugin is trying to use.

    I’d log in via https://conflict-savvy.net/wp-login.php, but my web host has locked that page temporarily (hopefully just for 15 minutes) due to thinking someone’s trying to brute force their way in. Possibly just worried about the activity from the plugin, so I’ll try again in 15 minutes and see if it’s working.

    In the mean time, any insight into why the plugin is referring me to a URL different than the one set in my settings?

    For some reason I seem to have lost the edit button, but the problem was on the account hosting side. Fixed it up and working properly.
