• Hi,
My media library only seems to allow landscape photos. Whenever I try to import a portrait photo it seems to chop off the top and the bottom and just loads the centre bit.

Is there a setting I can change to stop this happening?

    Thanks
    Lou

  • The image is all there in the original file, but how it is displayed is determined by the theme (or plugin, like a slideshow). The Media Settings specify the sizes that WordPress will create when you upload. Those are probably set for landscape. Changing them won’t affect the images already uploaded. If you decide to change the sizes, you would need to run a plugin like Regenerate Thumbnails afterward, in order to affect the existing images.
