• This is a bummer. I posted on this a couple hours ago, but the post seems to be in limbo. So…I found two threads on this, but they were both related to older versions of WP, and there was no satisfactory solution for my problem.
    I am on IE6 and using WP1.5.
When I click on the “Logout” option on the dashboard, it just refreshes the page. So, I can’t log in as another user.
Second, I have registered another user (user #2), but that is not shown in the drop down on the posting page. Admin is all that’s there. This could be because I couldn’t give that user the same priveleges as the admin, but I’m not sure how to do that.
So, I’ve been going into the database and changing the post_author from “1” to “2” which is really not a good thing.
So, how do I logout as admin?
How do I get the other user to show up in the drop down menu?
How do I post under the other user name?
Please keep in mind that I’m code illiterate, and it took me hours and hours to get to the point where I could change those 1s to 2s in the database.
    Thanks, Z

Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

That might make it possible for me to get a new login screen, but it won’t fix the problem of not having additional users show up in the dropdown menu on the write page. I’d like to get that fixed, then I don’t have to keep clearing my cookies, which is a total drag because some of those I want kept.
    Thanks, Z

Probably the user you just created doesn’t have writing privileges – that’s why doesn’t show up in the list. By default a new user has 0 (zero) level. Upgrade the user to a higher level (Admin > Users)

Well, bless your heart, Moshu. That did the trick. Thanks soooo much. It was driving me nuts.
