I went through my FTP account and changed the WordPress password following the steps as instructed, and got the confirmation there that the password had been changed. But when I got back to my WordPress site –https://islam-and-west.com – and used the new password, it didn’t work.

Again, I tried WP’s “lost password” link, and was asked to put in my e-mail address, which I did. But now I get the message saying so such e-mail has been registered! Yet just this evening I got a message from WordPress to the SAME E-MAIL ADDRESS (which I was informed had not been registered), notifying me that a new person had registered with my WP site, https://islam-and-west.com.

I suspect that my blog site has been hacked. It was hacked once before. How can I check if it has been. Otherwise, can you advise me how I can find out what is going on? It’s so bizarre.

Not so good. You say you’ve been hacked before? The SiteCheck for your URL came back clean but sadly that may not be revealing the hack.

I tried some of these links but couldn’t trace the problem. Can WordPress help me get back to my site? I’m a very very busy man and not technically very savvy. I have wasted two days getting access to my site. I would abandon the site if I could somehow copy and transfer it somewhere else.

I would appreciate your further help.

Unfortunately, WordPress has no access to your site at all. Have you asked your host – many tightened login security recently due to massive attacks on servers – see:
