• I don’t know what version of wordpress I am using because I can not log in. I can not get to my dashboard. I try to log in and I just get the page reloaded and the text fields empty again. I try to use the lost password and it does the same thing. The system asks like it does not recognize me any longer. How can I get back into my site so I can at least get the info off of it and close it out? My host says they can’t help me get into the site.

I have posted a couple times on this forum already with no replies. I am very frustrated that no one is able to help or even reply top my request for help. I will think long and hard before I recommend wordpress to anyone for this very reason.

try Clearing the cache memory of your browser and restart it.

I’ve done that and it doesn’t help but thank you for replying.

Let’s have a look at your site. What’s the URL?

    You’re running WordPress 3.3.1.

Try this codex article for resetting your password without access to the WordPress dashboard.

I prefer the modifying your theme’s functions.php file myself.

Make sure you save a backup copy of any file you edit just in case.

You also seem to have a redirect going on. I’m seeing //www.paintingpetsonline.com in all of your underlying URL’s, and a redirect to //www.suesteinerpetportraits.com/wp-admin on the login page.

I guess I would also make sure that whatever masking or redirect you have going on there, isn’t actually interfering with reaching your dashboard once you enter your credentials.

[edit] Just for the heck of it, try logging in using this URL and see if the result is any different: https://www.suesteinerpetportraits.com/wp-login.php

The reason I suggest trying this is because when I access your /wp-login.php directly, I don’t see the redirect to suesteinerpetportraits in the input form in the source code. But when I access /wp-admin, the redirect to suesteinerpetportraits shows up. I have no real idea what that means, but I’m curious about the behavior.

[re-edit] On a personal note, your particular style of equestrian art just leaves me wanting to see more. I’ve book-marked you for future reference, and I really hope you get your site sorted out.

thank you for the suggestions. And thank you clayton for the nice compliment on my art. ?? I like the web site and like the new design I have now so would like to keep this going too! That might of been what happened in all of this- I had just changed designs and was trying to clean it up a bit.

How do I find the ‘root of my wordpress installation’?

I think the “wordpress root directory” would probably be referring to the directory where all of your wordpress files are physically located.
