• Hi,

I am new to WordPress and have just started working on my website, https://www.industrialresumes.com. I have no previous experience/knowledge so some help would be great!

When I was editing the sight this morning I got kicked out and have not been able to log in since. I am able to go to https://www.industrialresumes.com/wp-admin, but every time I enter my login details the page takes ages to load then goes to ‘Page can’t be displayed’.

I have tried to log in at work and at home on a few different devices and through several ISPs with no luck.

I have spoken to Bluehost and they advised me to look at my themes and plugin files, which hasn’t helped, nor has restoring my site. They then said it must be the ISP. I have spent an hour on the phone to my ISP and they are confident its nothing to do with them, specifically because the site actually works.

I’m at a loss of what to do after 6 hours of trying, please can someone help?!?!

    Thanks

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Thanks so much for your help Esmi.

I had already tried the first two, just done the third and still have the same problem. It’s driving me mad, I don’t know what to do! Any more ideas?

I can still see at least 1 active plugin on that site. Reset the plugin folder.
