• Added the facebook app. Told me there was an error, but it didn’t prevent me from logging in and using my page. Upgraded to the latest version of wordpress. Now when I try to log in I get the “HTTP 500 Internal Server ERror” page that says “Most likely causes: ?The website is under maintenance. ?The website has a programming error.”

Web page still works, but cannot log in. Went to my host and manually deleted the facebook app directory. Not sure what to do since I cannot log in to my admin page. Thanks!

did deleting the app help at all?

500 errors are usually out of your control, it’s a server error and the hosting company needs to get on top of it

Check whether following URL works or not.!!!

    “YourDomainname”/wp-login.php

    Hope this works with you.

@lebowski – Deleting the app did not help.

@shane – it does not. that’s where it sends me after i attempt to login. In firefox it’s a blank page, in IE it’s the 500 message.

I will contact my hosting company (bluehost), although the webpage is still up and running. Thanks!

Turned out one of the plugins was acting up. Once he renamed the plugins directory (in my host control panel) I was able to log in to my site. All plugins were automatically disabled by wordpress because they could not be found. Then he renamed the plugins directory back but i could still log in since all of the plugins had now been disabled. Went through one by one to find which plugin was the culprit but they all worked, so he deduced that one of the plugins just needed to be deactivated and reactivated for some reason. All is well, now. Thanks!
