Can’t log in to admin panel after upgrade to 2.6

  • I just upgraded to version 2.6 and can’t log into the admin panel. Blog looks fine though. I just can’t get in to edit it. Admin password doesn’t work and my username password doesn’t work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Sorry, more info… when I go to the blog’s main page, it shows that I’m logged in. However, when I click on “Site Admin” it takes me back to the login screen.

    Delete cookies.
    Delete browser cache.
    Retry.

    I have the same problem and deleting cookies and browswer cache don’t help. I’ve even tried an entirely different browser, to no avail. This is beginning to worry me!

    Enter incorrect user or pass and it tells you so.

    Enter correct password and you get redirected to admin, only to be rejected back to login page with message “you need to login again”.

    It seems to be a cookie issue between 2.5 and 2.6, as I logged in OK on another machine, but switching between ff and ie on this machine I can’t get in, even deleting all cookies and files and restarting.

    Exactly.

    How is your site set up? Does WP live in its own directory?
    Which browser is this?

    setup in the root directory
    I login via https://www.xxx.com/wp-admin (redirects to https://www.xxx.com/wp-login.php).

    Using IE7 or ff
