Changed admin and login path and a whole bunch of others in the lite version. Can’t login. Even with safe URL. Deleted plugin and still can’t login. WP 5.4. Ubuntu 18.04 and PHP 7.2. Self hosted with full root access. I installed the OS. I have JetPack and VaultPress installed and Wordfence and iThemes.

I know the correct URL that was changed. It just returns an 404. I had W3 Total Cache installed too and that was giving me problems too and I had to delete that plugin too.

How do I fix it so I can login again? I deleted all the .htaccess code and that still didn’t work.

    Hi @nathaniel,

Do you have an Apache website or Nginx? If it’s Nginx you need to reload the Nginx after you delete the plugin.

If you have an Apache server, once you delete the plugin, all the old paths should work because the plugin doesn’t run anymore.

Can you rename the /wp-content/plugins to /wp-content/plugins1 to make sure no other plugin is affecting the login page? Change it back after you login with /wp-login.php.

We tested Hide My WP with Jetpack, Wordfence and iThemes Security and we didn’t have any login issue. It could be from a setting that we haven’t tried.

    Best, John
