can’t log into wp-admin

  • I don’t log in to the dashboard very often but I need to redo that site and there is no way for me to log in. I get a pop up screen for username and password but not the usual WP page where you can reset your password. Consequently, I’ve gone into phpMyAdmin to reset the password/username there but still can’t log in. Also tried deactivating the plugins there but I don’t have that option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    maybe thats a htaccess password request.
    Do u have access to ur FTP files?
    The wordpress files?

    In ur wordpress root/maybe wp-content folder is a htaccess and htpasswd file.

    U have to outcomment the authorisation part in the htaccess file

    Thanks for your help; I’m seeing the wp-content folder but how can I see if it is a htaccess and how can I change that? I’m sorry for the questions, i am far from being a programmer…
