Can't log onto admin panel

    I’ve been using wordpress and took a little break. When I went to click on my bookmark to get into the admin panel, it prompted me for my password. I thought I had it but I didn’t so I requested a password reset. I am getting the following message:
    The e-mail could not be sent.
    Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function…

    HELP!?!?!? I have no idea what is going on and why I cant’ simply log in or let me reset my password.
