Are you on wordpress.com or on a separate domain? On wordpress.com I don’t know, but on my server I go into the wp-content/plugins/ directory and check. And then you should delete the Version check plugin.

I have just cheked my plugins folder but cant see a version check plugin?

I have a folder called akismet and a file called hello.php

Should I delete these? (and keep a back up)

I have multiple domains (all on the same server) which are experiencing the same problem. All were recently upgraded to WP 2.1

None of them have the Version Check plugin.

Our server is running:
PHP 5.0.4
MySQL 4.1.21

No, don’t delete those, davidjemison. Then it is something else causing the problem. And then I don’t know.

OK I have figured it out!

I have FireFox on the Mac with the Web Developers toolbar installed.

This seems to be a problem as I have tried in Shitfari and it works fine.

Is this an FF bug?

Tonight I tried to reply to a post at hotair.com

I went to your page where one creates an account and created one. I went back to hotair.com and tried to log in. I got a wrong username error. I clicked the forgot your password link. It asked for my username and email address. I supplied these. The next page I got contained nothing but the following:

Sorry, that user does not seem to exist in our database. Perhaps you have the wrong username or e-mail address?

What’s going on?
