• Updated to latest version last night.

When I try to login as a normal user I get the “You are now logged out.” message.

Users now can’t login at all.

Doesn’t seem to have impacted Admins though.

    Help!

Is the because of the need to now buy a redirect extension?

No, it is not because you need to purchase anything. Try disabling other plugins and see if this problem persists.

The problem is that the plugin redirects to wp-admin by default.. right? As such if I make wp-admin not accessible is doesn’t know where to go and seems to just refresh the current (login) page.

It used to redirect subscribers to the home page and admins to wp-admin.

Can’t find any setting to do that in version 7 but did notice the “redirect” extension that would seem to suggest I’d need that to do what I want… unless I’m missing something of course?

    Many thanks.

WordPress redirects to /wp-admin by default, yes. The Redirection extension allows you to change this. However, it sounds like you are experiencing something else if you are being logged out immediately after being logged in.

The message shown is “logged out” (on the themed login) but actually I’m logged in it just seems to refresh the login page as it couldn’t get to wp-admin which wrongly displays the logged out message. Looks like redirection plugin might be the key for a few $s.
