I have wordpress 1.5 (downloaded only tuesday).
Local setup ? Well I have MySQL 4.1 , PHP 5. 04 and OmniSecure 3.0 web server, till now everything worked fine.

I’m really a little confused, because in installation everything worked fine, and index.php works OK (I can post and all OK), but I simply can’t log in.

I’m also having this problem, but I’m running Mozzie under Redhat Enterprise, so no big deal, I just use my windows machine.

Well I’m pretty stupid in these things, I have always had windows, and I’m useng standart IE 6.0 as browser.

Have you checked that all the files are actually present in /wp-admin ?

Everything seems to be fine. Maybe I’am just a little stupid or something, but I have red many manuals and couldn’t find any explanation.

I am having the same problem. Does the login require anything special from PHP that might not be included in a shared hosting environment?

I’m not sure this will pertain, but it’s something I just did not get about running this locally: if you don’t set up a separate user through phpmyadmin, you won’t login because you are already “there” as the root user (which even on a local machine isn’t a particularly good idea….)

I tried adding another user as well as everything mentioned on codex.www.ads-software.com. Nothing worked. I have no idea what could be causing this. I guess the next step is to dig into the code….

    Thanks for the assistance.

I found this bug listed in a previous post. There was a link to posted:

    https://mosquito.www.ads-software.com/view.php?id=592

It mentions that this bug was resolved in 1.5.1, but I was wondering if the version offered for download is 1.5.1?

If not, is there a way to get this version?

    Thanks.

gmeans – the download links above will give you enough information to get hold of a 1.5.1 If you get totally stuck, email me and I’ll send you the latest code ? tamba2 at gmail dot com

Don’t know how I missed the subversion access link before…

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi,

I’m having this problem as well, but it’s still not clear what I should do to solve this ?? (pardon me, I’m not familiar with php and so)

    can someone help me ?

    thx!

Phew, I’m glad I found this thread, solved my problem with the fix here : https://www.simmonsconsulting.com/wordpress/?p=164
