    Hello,

Yesterday I updated to Shield 9.0, and all was normal on my site. But, when I went to login to my website this morning, the “I am a human” Checkbox is stuck loading, even after refreshing the page. This is the first time I’ve ever seen it do this, and I tried on multiple different browsers, same results. Here is a screenshot of the login page I’m experiencing:

Frontend is still up, but I can’t access the backend at the moment. Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi,

Sorry for the trouble you’re having.

We’re aware of the problem, and we’re looking into it…

You can use a ‘forceoff’ file to get back into your site. To do this, please follow the steps outlined in this guide here:
    https://icontrolwp.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/3000000959

This will act to temporarily disable the features of the plugin allowing you to get back in and change Recaptcha settings.

Once you’re in, you can disable Recaptcha completely by going to the General settings => CAPTCHA => and remove Recaptcha keys => save.

You can keep it disabled for now…

    Just one more thing, please.

Do you use WPS Hide Login plugin? Also, are you customizing your login page in any way?

    Many thanks.

Thank you for the quick response! I will use the forceoff file and follow those steps for now to get access. And I am using WPS Hide Login at the moment.

There’s no problem at all. Happy to help. ??

Are you also customizing your login page in any way?

The only customization I’ve applied to the login page is swapping out wp-admin in my URL to try and prevent brute-forcing. Is the issue a conflict between the two plugins?

Yep, we think it is. We’re looking into it as we speak…

We noticed that Shield’s Recaptcha is working fine when WPS Hide Login is disabled.

Okay! I appreciate the information, and all of your help!

The problem is just timing between the 2 plugins. We’re not going to release a new plugin update just yet to address this, but if you’re using WPS Hide Login, here’s how to get it working with Shield:

    1. Browse to here to view the file with the fix applied on Shield’s SVN repository: https://plugins.svn.www.ads-software.com/wp-simple-firewall/trunk/src/lib/src/Modules/LoginGuard/Lib/AntiBot/ProtectionProviders/
    2. Right-click on BaseProtectionProvider.php and “save link as…
    3. Store the file somewhere on your disk where you can get to it easily.
    4. Using FTP, or a file manager of some sort, browse on your website’s file system to the following directory:
      /wp-content/plugins/wp-simple-firewall/src/lib/src/Modules/LoginGuard/Lib/AntiBot/.
    5. You’ll see a file there with the same name as you downloaded in step #3 above: BaseProtectionProvider.php
    6. Replace the file on your website with the file you downloaded in step #3

Note: If you’re using Shield’s Plugin/Theme Guard, you may get notifications from the scanner to let you know that this file is changed. If you “Repair” the file, you’ll go back to square one and have to apply this fix again. Simply click to Ignore this file if it comes up in your scans.

Okay, that works perfect! Thanks for the quick and easy solution Paul and Jelena.

Hey, We are having the same issue but we am not using WPS Hide Login. What should we do?

    Thanks!

“I am a human” Checkbox is stuck loading and I can’t login to over site and FTP too. What I can do?

Hi, are any of you using any sort of 3rd party plugin to change your login page in any way?

    No, only Shield Security

    (@paultgoodchild)

This is strange since it only happens on certain sites, not all. But we managed to get hold of a site where it breaks, and we have a potential fix.

Can I ask you to try the steps above:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/cant-login-access-admin-panel-dashboard/#post-12791999

But instead of BaseProtectionProvider.php, please replace the file GaspJs.php?

    Thanks.

Overwriting files did not help ??
