Can’t login through wp-admin or wp-login

Ok you need to access wp-content/themes/carrington-text/functions/sidebars.php How did you upload the files if you don’t have FTP? Who is your webhost and can you access your files via the web?

Is working now.

Please share how you solved the problem. My problem is exactly the same, only the files are wp-login.php and pluggables.php.

It is usually due to spaces, new lines, or other garbage at opening/closing PHP file <?php tag or after a closing ?> tag in wp-config.php. It can be other file too so need to check error message as it may list file name where the error occurred.

One can either upload error file from the backup or edit erroneous file. To edit the file one need to check below mentioned points:

1. Download the file mentioned in the error message.
2. Open that file in a plain text editor
3. Check that the very first characters are <?php
4. Check that the very last characters are ?>
5. Place the cursor between the ? and >
6. Now press the DELETE key on your computer and keep that key pressed for at least 15 seconds.
7. Now type > and
8. Save without pressing any other key at all.

But i don’t know how to fix can not log in and can not see in my file zilla where to look help i have hostagator but can not see there too

I tried what Shane G has suggested. There aren’t any spaces. Nothing happened.

Can modernhood or tomontoast suggest what to do?

The space (either a single space or entire line) is on line 1 of the wp-config.php file. See this for more info:

Alternatively, you could download WordPress again and use the included wp-config-sample.php file to replace your wp-config.php file. Don’t forget to fill in your database info and rename the file.
