• Hello,

The company that I was getting my hosting, my web address and my email address through has gone under very suddenly. I decided to let account just die out rather than switching to another company, because I had been ignoring not-yet-launched site for so long I was starting to wonder if I should continue with it.

I eventually decided to give it a shot, and tried to login, but found out that I was unable to do so. I realized that my login username was my now-deleted email address that disappeared with my hosting company. I don’t know if it is possible to receive a password/username reset, or what options I have to login, but any advice is helpful.

I didn’t have a lot of the site set up yet, so I am happy to start over. However, it would be preferable to just be able to go back in and continue from where I left off (even if it was just a little progress).

    Hoping you can help.
    Cheers.

  • So you set the site up on a new host and need to recover your admin account, but the old email and password need to be reset?

Take a look at this Codex article. It gives you a number of options, one of which should work if that’s the situation.

The company that I was getting my hosting, my web address and my email address through has gone under very suddenly.

Then the database and any backup most likely are gone.

If that is the case, you need to start over.
