    I can’t log in to wp admin.

    Have tried with both username and email.

    I get this:

    ERROR: The username or password you entered is incorrect. Lost your password?

    Checked in LastPass, I have the right password and username.

    Have sent for new password three times in half an hour. Not getting anything, anywhere.

    What’s going on?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Annaxt,
    Reset password from “WordPress manager by Softaculous” if you have cpanel.
    Or,
    Please check or reset your password from phpmyadmin in your hosting server.

    This article lists several completely different ways to reset your password. Any one of them will work and do the job. Find the one that’s right for you and use that: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/resetting-your-password/

    Thank you @ksthannan and @sterndata. Unfortunately, I don’t have the skills to use any of the suggested solutions. These are some of the things I may have heard of, but never used:
    * cpanel
    * phpmyadmin
    * hosting server
    * MySQL
    * Md5 hash
    * FTP
    * WP CLI

    … and I’m weary about mucking about in the root directory (not even sure if that’s the right name).

    Sorry about being very clueless.

    Is there no other way? Not possible to contact WordPress support and ask them to kindly fix the bug, or send a new password, or tell me what I am doing wrong?

    this is WordPress support. We have no access to your site. I recommend the phpmyadmin method, explained in detail at that link. Or you might contact your host.

    It says in those details @sterndata :
    Note: use phpMyAdmin at your own risk. If you doubt your ability to use it, seek further advice. WordPress is not responsible for loss of data.
    I do doubt my ability to use it, that’s why I don’t. I might seem like an idiot to you, I probably am in comparison. I don’t even understand what you mean by “this is WordPress support” – my blog is WordPress so why is this not the place? – or “We have no access to your site” – who are “we” and why do you assume I would think that you had? I just asked if anyone knows how to solve this problem. I can’t access the admin pages at my own blog that I had for many years, it’s a really big problem for me.

    You wrote “Not possible to contact WordPress support and ask them to kindly fix the bug, or send a new password, or tell me what I am doing wrong?” To which I replied, “This is wordpress support.” But we cannot access your site on your behalf. So, if you won’t try the documented solutions, I suggest either contacting your host (as they do have access to back-end stuff) or hiring a developer to help you with your issues.
