• I’ve just successfully downloaded and installed wordpress via softaculous but when I go to the login page to sign in with my username and password the page just refreshes when I click on submit. There is no error message to say that the password or username could be incorrect or anything!

I’ve even tried the password reset option but still waiting for them to send me an e-mail, its been 15mins now.

  • Many hosts are currently experiencing problems due to mass attacks. Yours just might be one of them. Try contacting them.

I’d also suggest reviewing https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/brute-force-attacks-and-wordpress and Brute Force Attacks.

Thanks for your quick reply, I’ll check if that could be the reason, but I don’t think it will be as I do have wordpress installed on one of my other pages in the same domain and that’s working fine.

Also, I’m getting the below error when trying to access the page that has wordpress installed on it..

This web page has a redirect loop
The web page at https://www.example.co.uk/abc/ has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.
    Here are some suggestions:
    Reload this web page later.
    Learn more about this problem.
Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects.

I’ve cleared my cookies as it suggests but am still getting the error message.

The only other suggestion I can make is that you delete the install via Softaculous and try re-installing.

I’ve just done that and it hasn’t helped unfortunately. I still getting the exact same issue.

Have you tried installing WordPress manually? Have you spoken to your hosts yet?

The issue was in the wp_options table, I had to change the siteurl because wordpress had it without the www. which was causing the infinite redirects.

Hi, I am also having the problem of logging into wordpress after installation.

At one point during my wordpress installation I went to [SITE]/wp-admin/install.php, and the message I received was “Already Installed. You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.” There was a Login button at the bottom. I clicked on Login.

Then the [SITE]/wp-login.php page appeared. I logged in, with what I thought was my wordpress username and password. But then I realized that I never reached the page where it asks you to set up a username and password.

The weird part is that in logging in it never said that I had an error. It just refreshed the page. I tried reinstalling all the wordpress files manually and I’ve reuploaded and checked the wp-config.php files about 5 times.

I guess my question is after I have uploaded all the wordpress files, changed the wp-config.php file with the database information, go to [SITE]/wp-admin/install.php, what should I do next?
