It’s rare that we get reviews here that aren’t 1 star or 5 stars since most users seem to have strong reactions and go one extreme or the other. Seeing you gave a a thoughtful rating appreciated.
I totally hear you on the feature request to charge for events submitted through the Community Events add-on. As you noted, it is indeed a long-term goal for us and we hope to be able to report more progress. In fact, you can add your vote to that feature request and receive updates as they’re available.
On that note, is the fact that we got a 2-star review due to a lack of expectation on our part? Did you get The Events Calendar expecting to be able to charge for event submissions through the Community Events add-on and–if so–is there anything we could have done to communicate that better up front? We definitely hate the idea of creating false expectations and want to make sure we learn how we could have avoided that in this case.
Totally understandable if you’re uninterested in providing that level of feedback or don’t have time. But if you’ve got a second we’d appreciate it and would take it into account as we work to improve the plugin. Our goal is to make the plugin more useful to all our customers…and if we can earn a full 5 stars from folks like yourself along the way, that’d be a nice added bonus. But more than anything I’d love to chat and hear your thoughts so we could spare others your disappointment down the road.
