Hi there, hope you are well.

I’m experiencing an issue with your otherwise great migration plugin. I’m trying to migrate a site from Flywheel to Siteground, but I’m getting this error message:

“…Please fix your files permissions at your current host and make sure your wp-content folder is writable. Files should be set to 644 and folders to 755.”

I’ve spoken to Flywheel about this and they say that all the permissions are correct and blame the migration plugin. I can forward their response to you if you wish.

Anything you can do to help?

    Many thanks!

    Hey @skafte,

If you’ve made sure that the permissions are set correctly, please also make sure that the file ownership is set correctly as well, as this could lead to the SiteGround Migrator not being able to process the files too.

    Kind Regards,
    Ignat

    Hi there @ignatggeorgiev,

    Many thanks for your response.

Here’s what Flywheel said in response to me asking about file ownership:

“They may be running into issues with this due to our core WordPress files being locked down for security which unfortunately is something we’re not able to change on our platform. I’d suggest downloading a full site backup using the guide here which SiteGround should be able to use to migrate your site across ??”

So I guess that means that it simply isn’t possible to use this plugin for Flywheel-based sites at all.

Well, at least we know now!
