cant open archive !

  • Hello
    was using this plugins for years
    but since few weeks (in May) i cant open the backup files anymore !
    the backup process seems to work
    backup to a TAR archive
    open it with 7-zip v9.20
    error message : “file cant be open as an archive”

    BackWPup v3.60 (free version)
    WP 4.9.7
    7-zip v9.20

    sorry cant install winrar on my machine

    the archive files generated by backwpup should be able to be opened with any program managing the tar format , no ?

    Sorry, but as I know, Windows didn’t support Tar archive so you will need a third party software to do this like WinRar, 7-zip or PeaZip.
    Both PeaZip and 7zip are free ??

    i have written that i cant extract a Tar archive made by backwpup with 7-zip anymore
    thats weird do you use a special version of the tar format ?
