I can′t use the widget when adding it on the WordPress Sidebar. I can add it and I can add tabs but when I click on the “Open Builder” Button nothing happens.

I tried it on my active website and on a fresh install with only the pagebuilder and the tab widget active. The other widgets for example the Layout Builder are working fine. I also tried adding first a Layout Builder Widet and in that I added the tab widget but also the “Open Builder” button does nothing.

If I add the Widget in die PageBuilder everything is working fine.

    Hi,

I just tried this and it works ok on the default WordPress theme (I tested on Twenty-fifteen).

What version of WordPress are you using? Which version of this plugin are you using? What version of PageBuilder are you using?

Could you please try this on the default WP theme and see if it works there?

    Take care!

Hm ok that is strange. I have installed a complete fresh new WordPress Installation without any other plugins or themes and still have this problem.

    Wordpress Version: 4.6.1
    Plugin Version: 1.2.1
    Page Builder Version: 2.4.18
Theme: Tested with Twenty Sixteen and Twenty Fifteen and other themes.

Tested with Chrome Version 54.0.2840.99, Firefox Version 49.0.2 and Edge 38.14393.0.0 and always the same problem. Everything works only the Open Builder Button when added to Sidebar is not working.

I don′t know if this will help but I made a small video where you can see that it doesn′t work.
I forgot to show that when adding the plugin to the pagebuilder (not in the sidebar) it is working fine.

    Hi,

    thanks for the video! ??

I see the problem now! This is a bug in the plugin (widgets in customizer) and I’ll add this on the todo list to fix it, however there is a workaround…

Please go to Appearance -> Widgets and add the tabs widget there, I tested it and it works ok. It looks like the customizer option has a bug (don’t know what exactly, will have to do some more testing).

The other workaround (in customizer) is to add the tabs first and then click on the “Apply” button in the lower right corner of the widget, then also click on “Save & Publish” button and reload the customizer (refresh the page). After you do that, the page builder layout editor button will work. This other workaround is a bit long, but still, I just wanted to let you know that it can be done.

As for the fix… I don’t have a lot of free time to dedicate to this plugin, so as I said I will add it on my todo list, but I can’t make any promises as to when I’ll actually implement the fix (since the workaround in “Appearance -> Widgets” is acceptable)

    Take care!
