• It seems, that if I place a folder on my website, it can’t find it when i try to go to that folder. It kind of checks the database for WordPress-created folders with that name and ignores the files and folders from outside of the database.
So, when I type in the URL and press enter, the “Could not find page” shows up.

How can I get to that folder?

  • It is possible to put additional folders in the same directory as WordPress, so long as they don’t have the same names as WP folders. You can also have trouble with permalinks and folder names. If you have a WP page named ‘test’ and a physical folder named ‘test’, you won’t be able to get to the WP page at all. You’ll go to the folder instead. At least that is how it worked when I just tested it. So, the first thing is to make sure you don’t have any naming conflicts.

Before installing WordPress I had and still have an image folder and a folder for my phpBB forum. I can access them both. But, for some weeks ago I tryed to upload a flash and jQuery gallery and when i tryed to access it, I came to the WordPress file 404.php. So, that’s the opposite from what you experienced I guess.

Could it have something with restrictions or something, on that folder?

Explain what you mean by accessing a flash and jQuery gallery. Is this something that is supposed to work with WordPress or be completely independent of WordPress?

I planned on showing off some screenshots and tried out one of Adobe Bridge’s galleries. It ends up being a folder with an index.html and some js and flash-files.

    Completely independent. ??

By the way, appreciate that you are trying to help me. Thanks. ??
