I am especially confused because wp MU domain mapping documentation talks about configuring with cpanel and Parking a domain. My new host state that they do not offer the facility to Park Domains. So I am left with Aliasing which seems to work but afaics MU Domain mapping is redundant in this scenario since the url still swaps to subdomain.domain.co.uk when a user enters subdomain.com for instance.

I reinstalled the MU domain mapping plugin following the directions and now I find that I get an error message “too many redirects” in chrome or “Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.”

For any of the mappings I get this error, if I remove the mapping it redirects with no error but shows the subdomain url. I really want to show the nonsubdomain url how can I fix this?

Is this related to the fact that I have to alias the domains?

I have answered my question. With THIS host I needed to NO redirect the alias, I guess that does the same as parking the domain and leave MU plugin to do the rest.
